About Rowan House
We empower young people and encourage them to be involved in all aspects of their care.
At Rowan House we are Ofsted registered to provide care for up to three children and young people, any gender, from ages 8-17 years old.
We want Rowan House to feel like a ‘home from home’; a warm, welcoming environment where children and young people are supported, kept safe and provided with the tools needed to thrive and achieve their full potential.
The home provides care in a supportive, nurturing and encouraging environment for children and young people who have autism & learning disabilities.
Rowan House is located in the semi-rural area of St Helens and within the region of Merseyside. The centre of St Helens can be reached within 10 minutes and there is a variety of amenities in close proximity to include a range of local schools, shops, medical practices, places of worship and leisure facilities. To help develop social and independent skills we take every opportunity to explore the wider community to include Lancashire, Liverpool, Cheshire, and Chester.
Our young people can experience and enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities to include sporting events, concerts and other fun attractions – all within easy reach of Rowan House.
Young people are consulted regularly for their views and opinions, and their voice is listened to throughout all their plans.
Young people enjoy living at the home and like to contribute. For example, they have great fun creating the ‘Rowan on Record’ newsletter informing everyone of all that has occurred and about to happen at Rowan House and within My3.
To achieve the best possible outcomes for each young person, the staff team have experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications, supported by the wider senior leadership team within My3 Ltd.

Rowan on Record Newsletter Feb & March 2022How we see Success
‘The team at Rowan House are trained and experienced in working with ARFID – Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder – and have ongoing training in sensory integration, delivered by My3’s Therapeutic Manager. As such, the team have been able to support one young person to make significant progress in terms of their nutrition and diet, an essential part of growing into a healthy adult! On arriving at Rowan House, this young person had eaten a very limited diet of sweets, crisps and cake for several years. After just one month, this young person was enjoying a variety of fruits, vegetables and some healthy meal options prepared by Rowan adults. They continue to enjoy exploring a wider variety of healthy food options as their tolerance for new tastes and textures improves and have recently discovered a love for carrots!’

How we see Success
‘One young person arrived at Rowan House having not engaged in their education for several years. Within their first week, My3 services and Rowan adults had recognised the incredible academic potential of this young person and began to explore and identify potential barriers between them and their academic attainment. When it became evident that the barriers were in relation to the young person’s diagnosis of Autism, sensory processing issues and other health needs, we worked in partnership with the local education systems, to bridge this gap and ensure that the education provision on offer was accessible and considered these additional needs. As such, our young person went on to complete several academic assessments and was placed within the top 1% of academic ability amongst peer group. Scoring the highest marks ever recorded on some of the papers and now on track to complete GCSE’s! It has been wonderful to see this young person’s confidence grow, and Rowan adults won’t be surprised if they see this young person one day as one of our country’s greatest leaders!’
Rowan House Ethos
At Rowan House we will work together to deliver individualised, child centred care to all of our children and young people so that they build positive relationships within their home.
